As part of the City of Akron’s continued commitment to the health and well-being of our employees, we currently offer Direct Primary Care with Everside Health!
What is Everside Health?
Everside Health is a unique health care program that is available as part of the medical benefit. Eligible employees and dependents must have primary medical coverage with the City of Akron to enroll. If you enroll in the medical benefit and in the Everside Health program, you and your enrolled family members can receive primary care services through Everside Health providers, at little or no cost to you. To the extent that the City of Akron medical benefit is secondary/tertiary coverage for an individual, that individual is not eligible to enroll in the Everside Health program.
By using primary care as a “one-stop shop” for your health, Everside Health providers can treat up to 90%of your health care needs in one place, including primary and preventive care, chronic conditions, urgent needs, and specialty referrals.
With Everside you can:
- Save money: Most services are at little to no cost with no copays and no coinsurance
- Avoid expensive trips to Urgent Care: Your provider is available via phone 24/7 for all urgent medical needs
- Save time: Complete lab work and fill some prescriptions onsite and wait an average of less than 4 minutes for the start of your appointment

- Limited scope of prescription medications available at no cost to the member (first fill).
- Several labs are covered at no cost to the member.
- Some labs may be run through health insurance plan as normal.

Cost
- There is no additional enrollment fee for employees, spouses, or dependents.
- There are no copays or facility charges when you access services.
- Some labs and immunizations may be sent to MMO and processed like a normal claim.
