COVID-19
The safety and well-being of the City of Akron’s employees and providing a safe-work environment are our top priorities. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves, we are continuously updating our resources and guidance.
We will take all necessary precautions to keep our employees, visitors, and community members safe. We have created this webpage to provide resources for employees and their families to have available at any time.
It seems as though we have moved beyond the point of simply reminding the people we work with to wash their hands thoroughly and sneeze/ cough into their elbows.
Our physical health is equally important as our mental health and therefore to our overall well-being. Our well-being is comprised of our physical, mental and social aspects of our life. With that being said, our physical well-being relates to feeling very healthy and full of energy and vitality. Our mental well-being relates to being satisfied with our life, balancing the positive and negative emotions, finding purpose and meaning and believing one’s life and circumstances are under control with a general overall feeling of optimism.
The Human Resources Department recognizes that the most valuable resource for any organization is their people. And we want to protect that resource, you!
A list of resources can be found by clicking on the Resource boxes found on the side of this page. One may find the information found in the links helpful to relieve stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 crisis and further educating oneself on COVID-19.
