RXBin# 004336

Benefit Period January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

How The Plan Works

The City of Akron currently provides prescription drug benefits though CVS Caremark. Your prescription drug program allows you to obtain medications via mail or at your in-network, local retail pharmacy. All maintenance medications must be filled in 90-day supplies through CVS Mail Order or at a CVS Retail Pharmacy. If you take certain medications on an ongoing basis, you save time and money by having those drugs filled for a 90-day supply through the CVS Caremark Mail Service or your local CVS pharmacy.

Your prescription drug benefits are included with your medical benefit election. Your CVS Caremark ID card should be used at the pharmacy when filling prescriptions. Your prescription copays will accumulate towards your medical out-of-pocket maximum.

Note that there is no prescription drug coverage for any spouse or dependent enrolled in the City of Akron medical benefit as secondary coverage.
